Tour Itinerary
Day 1: City tour and Transfer to Akagera National park.
In the morning at 08:00am, you will be picked from the hotel by the tour guide and go for a genocide memorial tour to visit the Nyamata church, Ntarama church. Later, set off a scenic drive to Akagera National park reaching in the evening. You will have en route game drive on entry into the park. Dinner and overnight at Akagera Game Lodge (Deluxe)/ Ruzizi ented Lodge (Luxury).
Day 2: Game Drive and boat cruise.
In the morning, you will set off for game drive to the northern part of the park. You will see game as antelopes, Giraffe, bushbucks, water hogs and possibly lion, leopard, among others. In the afternoon, you will go for a boat cruise on Lake Ihema, where you will be rewarded with view of game as hippos, crocodiles, buffalos and Elephants and well as a variety of bird species. Dinner and overnight at Akagera Game Lodge (Deluxe)/ Ruzizi ented Lodge (Luxury).
Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes national park.
In the morning, you will set off a spectacular drive to Volcanoes national park via Kigali where you will take a break to visit the genocide memorial, local markets before proceeding to Volcanoes NP reaching in the evening for dinner and overnight at Mountain gorilla View Lodge (Luxury)/La palme Hotel (Deluxe)/ Muhabura Hotel(Budget).
Day 4: Gorilla tracking adventure and nature/cultural walk.
Gather at the park headquarters by 8:30am for briefing about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas, before proceeding to the forest for the trek in search of the amazing apes. This may take 2-7 hours before encountering the gorillas, depending on their movements. Meet and stay with the gorillas for one hour, and later descend the slopes, where the guide will drive you to the hotel for lunch and relaxation. In the evening, have a nature or cultural walk for entertainment. Dinner and overnight stay. (Day 3).
Day 5: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest NP.
In the morning, you will set off a scenic drive to Nyungwe Forest NP with stopovers for photography and enjoying the scenic view, reaching in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Gisakura hotel/Nyungwe Forest Lodge/Nyungwe Top View Lodge.
Day 6: Chimpanzee tracking and afternoon canopy walk/colobus monkey.
In the morning, you will go for chimpanzee tracking in the forest where you will encounter other primates. In the afternoon, you may go for Canopy walk or Colobus Monkey tracking. Dinner and overnight stay (Day 5).
Day 7: Transfer back to Kigali.
In the morning, you will set off back to Kigali with en route visit to Butare museum, Nyanza palace, reaching Kigali in the evening. You will then transfer to the airport for departure of check in your hotel in Kigali.
