Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival Nairobi (Kenya)
You will be met at the International Airport of Nairobi, by our safari guide who will warmly welcome you and take you to the hotel in Nairobi. Dinner and overnight stay at Nairobi Safari club(Luxury).
Day 2: Transfer from Nairobi to Masai Mara Game Reserve.
After breakfast, depart for an attractive drive to Masai Mara, Kenya’s world well-known game reserve. It forms part of the Great Mara-Serengeti ecosystem. It is home to all the big five (elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, and the rhino). Over 95 species of mammals are found in this great reserve. Besides mammals, over 350 bird species have been recorded here and the scenic beauty is unrivalled. After lunch, have a game drive which will allow you to spot the abundant wildlife in the Reserve. Dinner and overnight at Salt Springs Mara Camp(Luxury).
Day 3: Full day Masai Mara.
Full day spent in the Mara on game drives morning and afternoon. You will enjoy two game drives, one in the morning and another in the afternoon. Kenya’s most popular game sanctuary will give you the best opportunity of spotting the Big Five (lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant). You may have an optional visit to a local Masai village. Dinner and overnight at Salt Springs Mara Camp.
Day 4: Transfer to Serengeti
From Masai Mara, drive to Sirari border to connect to Serengeti. After crossing the border, proceed to Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. From June to early July, animals will be following the thunderstorms to the north via the western corridor. Spend your first night in Kogatende for a chance to see the migration. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti North Wilderness Camp(Luxury).
Day 5: Game viewing
Have a morning and afternoon game drives in Serengeti – the park with “plains that never end”. Every October and November, more than a million wildebeest and zebras travel south from the northern hills to the southern plains for the short tropical rains, and then journey west and north after the long rains in April to June. The park is inhabited by more than 3 million mammals; including lion, cheetah, leopard, elephant, buffalo, gazelles, antelope, giraffe, hyena, and all of the modest animals. Day 6: Transfer to Ngorongoro crater rim
Have a morning game drive in the Serengeti before lunch time. Then, drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You can visit the Olduvai Gorge museum or a Maasai Village en-route. (Optional activities: Fees payable directly at Museum or Village.) Then, proceed to Ngorongoro Crater rim. You will have clear views from the rim of the crater which are impressive. The crater has become a unique conservation area where Lion, Elephant, Rhino and Buffalo roam freely. Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge(luxury).
Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater to Tarangire NP.
After breakfast, descend into the crater floor early to have game drives. After lunch we head into the Tarangire National Park. This impressive park is one of the least visited in the northern circuit of Tanzania . It covers an area of 2850 square kilometers with 550 varieties of birds and large mops of elephants that are seen year-round. Dinner and overnight Tarangire Safari Lodge(Luxury).
Day 8: Transfer to Kilimanjaro and Depart for Uganda.
Depart very early in the morning for game drives before leaving at 10am for your drive to Arusha and onwards to Kilimanjaro Airport for your 3:55pm flight to Entebbe-Uganda. Dinner and Overnight at Cassia Lodge(Deluxe0/Le petit Village(Luxury).
Day 9: Transfer to Kibale national park
After a heavy breakfast, you will have a brief Kampala City tour and later transfer to Kibale Forest is a home to 13 primate species. The journey goes through beautiful Albertine Rift, county side homesteads, banana plantations among others. Reach fort portal late in the afternoon for a nature walk. Dinner and overnight stay at Kibale Primates Lodge(Deluxe)/Kyaninga Lodge(Luxury).
Day 10: Chimp trekking and afternoon nature walk.
After an early morning breakfast, you will proceed to Kanyanchu to track chimps and other primates within the forest. Also check out the grey checked mangabey, L’Hoest monkey, red-tailed monkey and the vervet monkeys. Have lunch and go for afternoon nature walk to Bigodi wetland sanctuary or cultural walk to “Amabeere ganyina mwiru”. Dinner and overnight at(Day10)
Day 11: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP and afternoon boat cruise
In the morning, set off to QENP, arriving early for lunch. Later in the afternoon, you will enjoy a tremendous boat cruise along the Kazinga channel for scenic views of the Lake Edward and George, Hippos, yawning crocodiles, several water birds like cormorants and pied kingfisher among the rest. Dinner and overnight Enganzi lodge(Deluxe)/Mweya safari lodge(Luxury).
Day 12: Game drive and transfer to Bwindi
Have breakfast and then transfer to Bwindi NP with a stopover at Ishasha sector for tree-climbing lions, and later proceed to Bwindi impenetrable national park, well known for mountain gorilla tours. Time allowing, you will take an evening cultural walk to the Batwa community. Check-in at Lodge for dinner and overnight at Gorilla mist camp(Luxury/Deluxe).
Day 13: Mountain gorilla trekking and transfer to Volcanoes Np.
Following breakfast at your lodge, assemble at the Bwindi park station for briefing together with your packed lunch and enter the forest for the adventurous gorilla tracking. You will meet the gorillas and allowed to stay with them for a maximum of one hour. On return, transfer to Volcanoes NP-Rwanda. Dinner and overnight at La palme Hotel (Deluxe)/Mountain Gorilla View Lodge(Luxury).
Day 14: Golden monkey tracking and transfer to Kigali.
After breakfast, you will go for golden monkey tracking adventure immediately after being briefed by the park rangers. This will also reward you other primates. On return, drive to Kigali reaching early for a city tour. Visit the genocide memorial, local markets among others. Dinner and overnight at Urban boutique hotel(Deluxe)/Kigali serena hotel(Luxury).
Day 15: Transfer to Bujumbura.
Early, morning, set off to Bujumbura with en route visit to nyanza palace, murambi museum, arriving in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Club du Lac Tanganyika.
Day 16: Gitega national museum– Gishora Drum Sanctuary
After breakfast visit of the drum sanctuary of Gishora. Gishora is one of the famous drum sites of Burundi. Gishora is perched on the top of a hill at 7km from the urban centre of Gitega The site of Gishora also houses two ritual drums that were never beaten : Ruciteme (the one for whom we clear the forest) and Murimirwa (the one for whom we cultivate). The two names are intimately linked to the farming vocation and refer clearly to the fertility, characteristic of the king. We have also ordinary drums which the Batimbo could beat on special occasions of the country.
Visit the drum sanctuary of Gishora to relive the cultural tradition of Burundi which is becoming scarcer. The site recreates an architectural complex of Royal palace, rarely found elsewhere in the country. Get there a lot of information will be provided by Mr Antime who has travelled a lot of countries across the world exhibiting the image of Burundi with his drum. Transfer back to Bjumbura for overnight.
Day 17: City tour and depart.
In the morning, go for the city tour and. Later, transfer Bujumbura airport for departure back home.
