This 5 days wildlife and gorilla trekking safari will start in Bujumbura-Burundi and end in Kigali-Rwanda.
Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Waterfall visit and Bujumbura city tour.
In the morning, you will be picked from your hotel n Bujumbura and set off to Karera falls. These falls are famous and form one of the major tourist attractions in Burundi, and was registered under UNESCO heritage sites, attracting tourists from all over the world. You will also visit the national museum, Gitega city tour, Catholic Location of Mushasha. You will then return to Bujumbura and have a Bujumbura City tour. Dinner and overnight at Club du lac Tanganyika (luxury and midrange)/ Hotel residence ubuntu, le clos de limbas (basic)
Day 2: Wildlife tour and transfer to Rwanda.
In the morning, you will set off to Kibira National Park where you will see more primates such as chimpanzee, vervet monkey, among others. You will also see hippos, crocodiles on Kibira river as well as variety of bird species. On return, you will drive to Rwanda and stay in Nyungwe or Changugu. Overnight at Peace guest house/ Nyungwe Forest Lodge.
Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes national park.
Early morning, you will set off a spectacular drive to Volcanoes national park with stopovers for photography and lunch. Reach Volcanoes national park in the evening for dinner and overnight at Mountain gorilla View Lodge/La palme Hotel/Muhabura Hotel..
Day 4: Gorilla tracking and afternoon cultural walk.
Early morning, with packed lunch, you will go to the park headquarters for briefing before embarking on the gorilla tracking adventure. In the evening, you will go for a cultural walk to Iby’wachu for cultural visit where you will learn more about the Banyarwanda culture. Later visit the Batwa community and learn about their culture as well. Dinner and overnight (Day 2).
Day 5: Golden monkey tracking and Transfer back to Kigali.
Early morning, you will go for golden monkey tracking. On return, transfer back to Kigali, reaching early to visit the Gisozi genocide memorial, local markets among others before transfer to the airport for your departure flight if on schedule.
