Tour Overview:
This wonderful expedition will lead to visit the southernmost source of the Nile at Rutovu downhill the mount Gikizi. It was discovered in 1934 by the German Waldecker. A pyramid that symbolizes this long sought after discovery was established in 1938, on the top of the mount Gikizi. From this wonderful structure, you will tour the central plateau of Bututsi and the plain of Muhweza, as well as the urban centre of Rutana .The Nile is the longest river in Africa. Its channel crosses five African countries upstream-downstream, of which Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, Sudan, and Egypt.

Day 1: visit the source of the Nile:
Our hospitable drive will pick up from your hotel, then drive Rutovu to see the source of the Nile the longest river in Africa and the second in the world. This is a small forest river stream with wonderful water flow. So you will enjoy the wonderful scenery and you will have an opportunity to take photos around. Then you will also go for a village walk around the urban center of Rutana. Then return to Bujumbura City.
